bah to face shapes! be original and do what you think makes you feel the best. Just put blush on the cheekbones. Smile big and put it on nice and pretty! :D

To get a natural looking application, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Don’t do the ‘blush into the hairline bit it’s old and dates your face.

If you have a square face, you might have higher-cheekbones than usual. Use a complimenting blush shade (a rose is usually good on everyone) to blush lightly underneath the cheekbones and over the apples of your cheeks. Use a sheer highlighter above the cheekbones and up to the temples.

Angle the blush upwards a bit, so it’s a little more vertical or diagonal rather than horizontal. Just like wearing a striped shirt — horizontal stripes or lines on your face will make your face look wider, while vertical lines will make it look thinner! Since a square face is already wide, you’ll probably want to make it look thinner. (Unless you want to emphasize the square shape; in this case stick with horizontal application!)

Here is a website with pictures which should help … this website also describes how to do contouring (applying light and dark foundations to change your face shape) in addition to just blush application!
